MacDonald, Scott

Captain Scott MacDonald, Second Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry was the Team Captain during the UNFICYP Swimming Championships was held at Blue Beret Camp pool, Cyprus, August 1990. The CANCON team won the overall trophy. He worked at the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Regimental Museum from 1997-1999 when he was seconded to the Calgary Highlanders.

MacDonald, Thomas

Born 17 March 1899, #770037 Private Thomas MacDonald joined the 124th Battalion as a bugler, January 10, 1916 at the age of 16. He sailed for England aboard the SS Cameronia 7 August 1916 and arrived in France 6 December 1916. He joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in the field 1 January 1917. He became ill shortly after and spent some time in hospital in France. He acted as a runner or messenger and stretcher bearer for the Regiment at Vimy ridge and Passchendaele where he earned the Military Medal. He was also a drummer in the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Pipe Band and played at Princess Patricia's wedding. He was struck off strength 20 March 1919. He passed away 10 September 1945 in Weyburn Saskatchewan.

MacGowan, Alfred James

Alfred James MacGowan #489785 was born in Coleraine, County Derry, Northern Ireland on 19 November 1885. He immigrated to Canada in 1912 and was employed as a teacher and principle of Macleod Public Schools until enlistment in 1916. He enlisted April 11, 1916 with the Princess Patricia' Canadian Light Infantry and was promoted to Corporal. He was discharged April 8, 1918, "Being medically unfit for further war service". Died 6 January 1959.
