Born 15 June 1931, SH 877 Ralph Edward McArthur enlisted 20 October 1952 and joined the Second Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 31 October 1952. He transferred to the First Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 18 May 1953. Arriving in Korea 26 May 1953 he was transferred to the Third Battalion 15 June 1953 and then to Canadian Infantry Brigade Headquarters following the Ceasefire in July 1953. Upon returning to Canada in May 1954 he was attached to the First Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry and attended the Canadian Army Jump Training Centre in Rivers Manitoba where he completed his jump course in September 1954. Transferred to the Royal Canadian Airforce 25 November 1954. Mr. McArthur died in 2000.

P22280 J. Larry McCulloch joined Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 01 September 1939 as Acting Corporal and made 2nd Lieutenant 16 April 1941. Rejoined Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 27 August 1943 as a Lieutenant then Struck Off Strength 24 May 1944. Retired as a Colonel. His son Karl Everett McCulloch attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.

Robert Bruce McIntyre was a graduate student with an interest in the Korean War. In 1994 he received his Master of Arts degree in history from the University of Waterloo. By 1996 he was a student in the Strategic Studies Program at the University of Calgary.

Robert Bruce McIntyre was a graduate student interested in the Korean War. In 1994 he completed his M.A. in History thesis at the University of Waterloo: The forgotten thirty-three ; an examination of Canadian prisoners of war of the Korean War. During 1994-1996, under the supervision of Dr. David Bercuson of the Strategic Studies program of the University of Calgary, he undertook research for a doctoral thesis on the "wellness" of Canadian veterans of the Korean War. His doctoral studies were apparently not completed.

McKay, Sydney L.

H 16083 Sydney Laurie McKay was born 25 September 1921 at Tufts Cove, near Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He eventually migrated to Winnipeg. He worked for Canadian Northern Telephones and Canadian Marconi Co. prior to joining the the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry as a Private 9 September 1939 at Winnipeg. He sailed with the Regiment to England aboard the SS Orama 17 December 1939 and landed at Greenock, Scotland 29 December 1939. He then proceeded by train to Morval Barracks, Aldershot, England. After spending three and a half years training with the Regiment in England he was promoted to Corporal and left England for Sicily 29 June 1943. While serving in Sicily and Italy he was promoted to Acting Sergeant just prior to being wounded 17 September 1944 in the Rimini area. He was struck off strength due to his wounds and was evacuated to the 14th C.G. Hospital at Naples and then to the 19th C.G. Hospital in Birmingham, England. He returned to Canada 12 January 1945 and continued to work for Canadian Marconi Co. for the next 39 years, retiring in 1984. He was a founding member of the Winnipeg Branch of the PPCLI Association. He married Helen Rudnick. He died on August 3, 2011.
