Milne, Arthur Robb

Arthur Robb Milne was born 16 September 1884. An agricultural student from Point Clair Quebec he enlisted with the 1st University Company as Private #410955. He joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 28 July 1915. He rose in rank from Private to Lance Corporal and then to Lieutenant 18 October 1917. He received the Military Medal 6 January 1917. Struck Off Strength with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 13 March 1918 and demobilized 25 September 1919. Returned to the Militia rising to the rank of Major.

Molloy, Gerard

Gerard Molloy served with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry from 1977 to 1989. He was with the First Battalion in Cyprus in 1984.

Morris, Edwin

SM800238 Capt. Edwin H. Morris, CD. After serving with the Loyal Edmonton Regiment in the Second World War, Captain Morris joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in 1950. He was Company Sergeant Major, D Coy Second Battalion at KapYong and promoted to Warrant Officer Second Class in 1959. Promoted to Warrant Officer First Class in 1962 and to Captain in 1966. He retired from military service in 1975.

Morris, Jenny Macgregor

Jenny Macgregor Morris, 1879-1960, was born in the United Kingdom. During the First World War she assisted her mother in operating a boarding house at 34 Bedford Street in London. She gave favorable rates for servicemen on leave, and she could accommodate up to 90 guests at one time. Her establishment quickly became the venue of choice for all ranks of the PPCLI, and she was known as the "Big Sister" or the "London Mother" of the regiment. Beyond offering accommodation, she mended clothing, helped the men write their letters home, acted as a confidante, and safeguarded the personal effects of men who had been killed in action. After the war she lived at Stanmore, Middlesex. She continued her association with the PPCLI, annually placing a wreath on its behalf at the Cenotaph in London. She corresponded with veterans, and is said to have written over 1500 letters annually. In 1938 the PPCLI sponsored her two-month tour of Canada, during which she received many honours, including Freedom of the City of Ottawa and being named an honorary princess of the Sarcee Tribe. During the Second World War she held open houses for members of the PPCLI. In 1957 she visited the regiment at Hemer, West Germany. In 1958 she suffered injuries in a car accident, from which she never fully recovered. She died on March 5, 1960 at Gorleston, Norfolk, England.

Mortimer, Arthur Norrie Bisset

51259 Arthur Norrie Bisset Mortimer was born 3 June 1890 in Edinburgh, Scotland. A well known soccer player, he was residing in Calgary, Alberta and working for the Acme Fruit Company prior to enlisting with the 23rd Battalion 3 November 1914. He joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in the field as a Corporal, 1 March 1915. He rose quickly in the ranks and was commissioned as a Lieutenant 20 November 1916 eventually attaining the rank of Acting Captain. He was wounded 8 May 1915 during the Battle of Frezenberg (Second Battle of Ypres) and again 28 January 1917. He served with the Regiment through the First World War and was Struck Off Strength 22 February 1919. He was awarded the Military Cross for his actions at La Folie Wood 28 January 1917. While leading a raiding party he was severely wounded but still managed to rush a German machine gun post and kill one of the sentries with his service revolver.
