  • Serie
  • 1939-1940

This series consists of one item, a diary/scrapbook that was maintained, possibly by Richardson’s mother Helen Richardson, to record the political events of the early years of the Second World War.

John Henry Richardson Military Service series

CWO Richardson kept extensive news clippings for the time of his service in Korea and through the 1950s, as well as numerous well-labeled photographs from this period. He also kept key service files that provide an outline of his career progression including courses taken and qualifications earned, as well as dates of service. The series includes stories and articles on other soldiers, including Jack LaChance and Bob Coulter. Items of note include telegraphs notifying his mother of his being wounded, newsclippings on the DCM award, and original letters from his time in hospital.
