Second World War photo collection

This collection consists of photographs of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) activities from 1939 to 1945. The Regiment performed guard duty in England, and saw action in Sicily, Italy, and Holland. The collection Includes action shots, souvenir postcards, and group portraits created and collected by members of the Regiment.

The fonds contains the 22-page diary of Francis George Young, August 1914 to August 1916 which details his service, wounding and subsequent transfer to various aid stations and finally a military hospital in England. Conrad Stephens fonds

The fonds consists of Conrad Stephens' memorabilia from the Dumbells, the musical and comedy troupe formed by the 3rd Canadian Division during the First World War which amalgamated with the PPCLI Comedy Company. After the War the troupe continued to tour Canada and the United States until 1929. Consists predominantly of publicity photos and portraits of the performers, many of them autographed. Includes a portrait of Stephens in his wartime uniform, a portrait of him as a veteran in the 1950s, and newsclippings about a reunion concert of the PPCLI Comedy Company mounted in 1955.

This collection consists of photographs of the 3rd Battalion of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (3PPCLI) during the conflict on the Korean Peninsula from its formation on November 30, 1950 to its deactivation on January 8, 1954.
