The fonds includes 5 photographs of the ceremonies (1990) and plaque honouring the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry's crossing of the Ijssel River, Holland 11 April 1945, 4 photographs of the First Division Monument in Sicily, 1991, 3 photographs of the Apeldoorn National Parade, Holland, 2000 and 6 photographs of the ceremonies and reception (2000) to commemorate the liberation of Achterveld, Holland in 1945. Textual records include correspondence, reports, nominal rolls, and speeches related to the Canadian Forces Pilgrimages to Holland in 1990, 1994, 1998, 1999 and 2000 and the Pilgrimage to Sicily, 2000, and his appointment as an honorary citizen of Ispica, Sicily (1995). Includes a file of 6 photos and research materials contributed by Jan van Dyk regarding the liberation of Achterveld (2001). Includes the manuscript for Sydney Frost's memoirs, "Always a Patricia". Includes his obituary and messages of condolence.

Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Heritage Committee fonds

Series 3 - John Henry Richardson Post-Military Series

CWO Richardson collected a number of records and photos from Korean pilgrimages in the 80s and 90s and veterans’ reunions. Most photos are unlabeled. He also kept articles and scrapbooks/copied stories concerning his military peers. Additional materials cover RSM Richard George Buxton, Jack LaChance, and Bob Coulter. Includes his will and information about his funeral service.

The John Henry Richardson fonds covers two distinct periods, his military service and his activities with veterans’ tributes and Korea pilgrimages after his service. He kept extensive news clippings for the time of his service in Korea and through the 1950s, as well as numerous well-labeled photographs from this period. He also kept key service files that provide an outline of his career progression including courses taken and qualifications earned, as well as dates of service. CWO Richardson collected a number of records from Korean pilgrimages in the 1980s and 1990s and veterans’ reunions. He also kept articles and scrapbooks/copied stories concerning his military peers. The fonds also includes a scrapbook/diary possibly kept by a family member documenting the early years of the Second World War.

Loyal Edmonton Regiment collection

The collection consists of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment's war diary for May-September 1944; a poster commemorating its 75th anniversary (1990); a recruiting brochure (ca. 2000); information on the naming of geographical features of the Edmonton housing development Village at Griesbach; and programs for regimental parades (2007, 2008).

John Henry Richardson Military Service series

CWO Richardson kept extensive news clippings for the time of his service in Korea and through the 1950s, as well as numerous well-labeled photographs from this period. He also kept key service files that provide an outline of his career progression including courses taken and qualifications earned, as well as dates of service. The series includes stories and articles on other soldiers, including Jack LaChance and Bob Coulter. Items of note include telegraphs notifying his mother of his being wounded, newsclippings on the DCM award, and original letters from his time in hospital.

Cecil James Simpson fonds

The fonds consists of copies of 8 pages from Cecil Simpson's notebook containing a chronology of his military service and nominal roll of 6 Platoon; uncaptioned photographs (copied from the original negatives) of Simpson, his wife, comrades, and family members; and copies of two items of French and Canadian currency autographed by Simpson and comrades.
